Hallo, ich bin Thomas!

When I was younger ...

I hated learning languages because I did not like the way how I had to learn Vietnamese at home and in the Vietnamese language school.
Learning English and French in high school was also not too much fun, because I was always under pressure memorizing every vocabulary and perform well in tests.
Being close-minded and not seeing the opportunities in knowing multiple languages made it even harder for me to stay motivated during my language learning experience.

... AHaaaa!

It was not until I started to make international friends that I saw the importance of knowing foreign languages. Regardless of which country - being able to speak a foreign language helped me not only to communicate with others but also helped me to actually understand the culture and traditions of my foreign friends.

Whenever I got the chance to talk to foreigners, I felt like going on a mini-vacation making me want to learn more about the world.

This experience inspired me to pick up learning foreign languages. But this time in a way that would be more interesting, engaging, fun and practical to use.

After successfully learn three further foreign languages, I did my teaching certificate in order to learn the skills necessary to help others learning languages and unlock their potential.

I planned to move to Ho Chi Minh City so that I could immerse further into the Vietnamese culture but also start teaching languages, with the same interesting, fun, and practical approaches that helped me.

But what exactly would I do?

Community is everything!

After teaching English and German for a while, I realized that many students learn languages in order to move abroad without actually tapping into the culture, traditions, and values of the chosen country. Especially when I taught German, I felt that their perception of Germany was quite off.

My other German-Vietnamese friends in HCMC thought the same. So we started to host "Deutsch Sprachtreff", a German language meetup, where we would focus on practice speaking and learning about Germany in a fuuuuuuun way!

Let's take it to the next level.

Welcome to DEUTSCH CAMPUS.

Teaching

Whenever I teach, I try my best to convey more than just German but also inspire my students to believe in themselves and dare to step out of their comfort zone.

Immigration

At Deutsch Campus we also connect qualified Vietnamese students to German companies, so that they can start a new chapter in life abroad.

Regardless of whether DST or DC, my purpose stays the same ...

I want our students to enjoy the class, have fun, make friends but also learn more about themselves during their language learning experience. So that they can become a global citizen.

My services

During my time in New Zealand, I met so many great and kind-hearted people that taught me so much about life. Being deeply grateful to those meaningful encounters, that shaped me to the person I am now, it is now my turn to give back to the community.
